Shareholder Tools

COMPLETE

Project Summary

Share Site is a Django-based share management platform for recording corporate share authorizations, ownership transfers, generating PDF ledgers, registers, and certificates. It validates the complete transaction chain to prevent invalid transfers and generates printable share certificates, shareholder ledgers, and corporate registers from the verified records.

Architecture Overview

  • Server-rendered Django monolith: Combine authenticated business workflows, ORM persistence, document uploads, and Bootstrap-based templates within a single WSGI application designed for Nginx deployment. This keeps a tightly related administrative system operationally simple while maintaining one boundary for data rules, authentication, and presentation.
  • Chronological ledger as the source of truth: Represent share authorizations and transfers as timestamped records instead of maintaining separate mutable balance fields. Current ownership, issued capital, and treasury availability are derived by replaying events for each company and share class, preserving an auditable history and supporting backdated transactions.
  • Whole-chain validation for historical changes: Evaluate a proposed transfer at its chronological position and reject it if the sender’s balance becomes negative at that point or anywhere later in the chain. When an authorization, transfer, or entity is removed, replay the remaining history, identify dependent transactions that become impossible, and require their explicit cascading deletion.
  • Unified person-and-company ownership model: Model people and companies through explicit sender and recipient foreign keys while using company-participant records to scope the entities available to each issuer. A single transfer workflow therefore supports treasury issuance, corporate ownership, person-to-person transfers, company-to-company transfers, and company buybacks.
  • Reports derived from canonical records: Build shareholder registers, management registers, per-owner ledgers, certificate views, and running balances directly from transaction and governance history. Print-focused templates provide formal document output without introducing a separate reporting database that could drift from the underlying ownership records.
